The HabeebeeCulture Adventure

What if your garden became the heart of a revolution? 🌿🐝
We are often asked about the secret of our soaps. The answer is not found in a laboratory on the other side of the world, but perhaps right there, in your garden. Welcome to HabeebeeCulture: a project around bees that blends knowledge sharing, nature, and hands-on experience.
It is a network of more than 180 enthusiasts across Belgium who have chosen to place the bee at the center of their daily lives. For its 9th season, Habeebee is launching a call for 30 new participants to join this unique human adventure.

What is HabeebeeCulture, concretely?
The idea is simple: to allow anyone to host bees at home, understand how they work, and take part in respectful beekeeping, from the smallest garden plots to large green spaces, from Flanders to Wallonia. It is a pact of trust and gentleness:
- Welcoming life: You install a horizontal beehive (a real small wooden home) at your place.
- Learning together: We support you step by step! The program allows you to learn natural beekeeping (free-building method) and discover your own honey harvest.
- Joining a family: Being a HabeebeeCultivator means joining a close-knit community. A highly responsive support group (WhatsApp, Facebook), members’ gatherings, conferences, trips… We learn, share, and thrive together.
The philosophy: a “common sense” beekeeping approach
Here, we prioritize the health of the colonies above all. We practice natural and family-friendly beekeeping that focuses on animal well-being.
- The Horizontal Hive: No heavy frames to handle. Thanks to an educational glass panel, we observe, marvel, and learn without ever disturbing the colony. It is a window into a fascinating world for the whole family.
- Free building: We let the bees freely build their own wax. It is 100% natural and respectful of their instinct as builders.
- Balanced sharing: Bees keep their honey as a priority for winter, as it is their best natural defense. We only harvest, with gratitude, the surplus (your family honey, around 2 to 8 kg per year).

The Habeebee virtuous cycle
The link with our workshop in Watermael-Boitsfort is direct and tangible. The short supply chain takes on its full meaning through this exchange based on reciprocity:
- The bee pollinates your environment and naturally produces wax and propolis.
- The HabeebeeCultivator cares for the colony, harvests its honey, and entrusts us with the surplus wax and propolis.
- The soap factory transforms these raw materials into exceptional skincare products.
- The return: As a member, you benefit from 30% discount all year long on all our products, a referral program, priority access to swarms, and access to a “beebliothèque”.
Training with experts
To get started, you will not be alone. You will be trained by a diverse team of world-renowned specialists:
- Pierre Javaudin: Bumblebee specialist, natural beekeeping expert and author.
- Olivier Duprez: Experienced beekeeper, co-founder of a school, author and trainer.
- Camille Calicis: Field beekeeper, specialized notably in Manuka honey.
- Alexia Van Innis: Founder of Habeebee, international projects.
- Roch Domerego: World-renowned expert (40 years of experience, 14 books).
- Ève de Sadeleer: Beekeeper and apitherapist, also active in Africa.
- The training program

The format consists of 4 full days to learn how to become a mindful and confident guardian. The program covers the entire cycle:
- Installation of the hive and welcoming bees into your garden.
- Observation of the colony and understanding their rhythm.
- Honey harvesting and extraction.
- Winter preparation and planting flowers beneficial to bees.
- Visit of the soap factory and end-of-season review.
- 📅 Schedule and locations
The trainings take place in inspiring locations combining culture, ecology, and education: Jardin de Diane, Bois de Fa, the Maisterplan experimental farm, and our Habeebee Soap Factory.

Sample schedule (generally from 1 PM to 6 PM):
- April 26: with Pierre Javaudin
- May 24: with Olivier Duprez
- June 21: with Camille Calicis & Ève de Sadeleer
- October 11: with Roch Domerego & Alexia Van Innis
(Exact locations are communicated by email before each session).

More than a method, an inspiring societal project
Joining HabeebeeCulture means participating in a forward-thinking model. Our members even take part in scientific research (such as the “Time to Bee” project) to highlight the exceptional benefits of natural products from respectful beekeeping.
It is an approach that brings meaning to our daily lives and concretely changes things in our gardens.
So, are you ready to welcome the Habeebee family into your home in 2026? 🐝
